Pupusas are delicious pillows of masa harina stuffed with equally delicious things like: beef, ground pork, beans, shrimp, and cheese. Usuluteco cooks every single one on demand and they are amazing. Slightly crispy exteriors with warm, soft dough wrapped around tasty dreams.
Loroco (Fernaldia pandurata) flowers are also featured as stuffing. This herbaceous vine is delicious with both the meat options and combined with cheese.
Each pupusa meal includes a serving of pickled cabbage with an appropriate level of heat. Thin sauces (both hot and mild) are also provided and can easily be metered out as drizzle or dipping. Minimum orders of 3 pupusas are required and the price per pupusa is around $2 (depending on stuffing ingredients).
The menu also includes a wider variety of El Salvador based cuisine. Everything we’ve tried has been excellent, well-seasoned, and consistent.
Standard drink options are available – soda, iced and sweet tea, bottled beer, etc.
Service is exceptional and friendly, the environment is clean and comfortable, and they also offer catering options.
