I am a creature of habit.
Once I find something that I like to eat, I tend to eat that same thing when I return to the establishment.
Such is the case with Bocco Deli. It’s been open for a few years, is on at least the second owner, and continues to serve my favorite sandwich in Wichita.
The turkey bacon on focaccia with sweet pepper bacon is the perfect combination of meat, cheese, and bread. The sharp cheddar plays excellently against the sweet, salty bacon. The bread is herbaceous and perfect in density. During the summer, I opt for the pasta salad (because salami). I usually choose the potato leek soup in the winter.
My dining companion prefers variety. She tried The Milano (seen below).
Her review of the sandwich – “This was not the best sandwich I’ve had at Bocco. I probably wouldn’t order it again.”
Bocco Deli usually does a brisk lunch business due to their proximity to Wesley Medical Center. Parking can be a bit of a challenge due to the limited number of close parking spaces. Bocco’s take-out has always been prompt and just as delicious as eating in house.
