Da Chicken Shak & More is located in the Indian Hills area where Bubba’s Nekkid BBQ used to be located.  I’ll admit, first I rolled my eyes and groaned … “Another Chicken Restaurant”.  But of course, since it is being opened by the people that own Da Cajun Shak, I had to try it.  I love Da Cajun Shak.

They have went for the homey feel in the shop.  The area is a little small – maybe seats 10 – 15 people total.  You can also order to go as well.  You can get chicken, alligator, fish, or shrimp – all fried, po’boys or crawfish.  We decided to try out the chicken tenders and the alligator.  One thing, I wanted to know how many pieces were included in the alligator and they were unable to tell me … only that it was “x” ounces.  At the price of the alligator without having an idea of the piece count, I was a bit hesitant to order the gator.

I got the okra as the side.  The soda’s come in cans which I don’t mind.  And of course, they have ranch available for dipping!

Overall, the flavor was good.  The food wasn’t greasy.  It was right after their soft opening, so we will probably go back and try it one more time.
